About the Event
On the eve of #blackoutday2020, July 7th, we are taking to a virtual platform to discuss the importance of the black dollar. By replacing ALL shopping of big brands with a black brand, we can change the narrative on financially supporting the black owned businesses.
In order for the Black Lives Matter movement to sustain, we realize the economic engine behind the movement has to be strong. As a collective minority group, we have decided to use our voice and social media platform to get behind the #blackoutday2020 initiative. An organization called The Blackout Coalition is leading the way and their mission is a strong one:
"to awaken the consciousness of black people in America and abroad, is only achievable as we unify and actively seek out and promote black business"
